Conyers Rockdale Council for the Arts

Conyers Rockdale Council for the Arts is located in historic “Olde Town” area of Conyers. In March of 2001, the building, located at 910 Center Street, was officially named Center Street Arts. This facility is now the home of the Conyers/Rockdale Council for the Arts and houses an 83-seat black box theatre and offices. With the mission: To make the arts an integral part of community development through accessibility to, advocacy for, and promotion of the arts and artists. The arts council’s vision is to be a partner in building a community enriched by the arts – providing opportunities for community involvement and participation in the arts for all our citizens; to celebrate our diversity and to encourage a balanced quality of life.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Audience Building Roundtable. As a small Arts organization with a budget of $100,000, the support that I am receiving in the way of professional development, education and networking is so valuable. I am able to be in the room networking and learning not only from my counterparts from diverse organizations in size and scope of work but from experts that are brought in. The fact that my organization CRCA, is small and outside of the Atlanta city limits makes no difference, we are all equal in our desire and commitment to promoting the arts in Metro Atlanta and our communities.
